During May 2003 I added several new features to the site, as well as editing some of the content to reflect changes at Spaceports and other sites since my last update.

First of all, I have tried to remove all links to sites that are no longer available, as well as replacing the portal section with a forums section.

Secondly, I updated the articles referring to the ad frame to use the more general term "advertising", as popup advertisements are currently being used instead.

I have added a reviews section, covering books, software and external services.

I updated the phpMyAdmin installation tutorial to point out that there is a public version available, provided by mattford.

I've also added a new Space Log section, which I'm hoping to convince other regular users to add articles to.

Although I had to remove the WebGFX page from the tools section, I was able to add a selection of new webmaster tools from SearchBliss.

The planet section now includes an article on favicons.

The options page of the CGI-BIN section now includes a section on remote hosts.

It is now possible to search this site, my forums or the Web, which should help those of you that can't find what you're looking for using the site map

I've also provided a selection of links relating to site building if you really must leave this site.

Finally, I've added a new remote hosts section, to help users set up remotely hosted services for use with their Spaceports site.

Please contact me (using the new online form) if these changes have broken any links, or if I've missed updating something.

Spaceports News

The only major change to the Spaceports services since my last update is that the ad frame on the planet servers has been replaced by popup advertisements.

Although I'm not overly fond of popup ads myself, I do understand that the previous banners were earning very little revenue, as they were all for Tera-Byte services (Tera-Byte is the parent company for Spaceports).

Hopefully this change will reduce the amount of money that Spaceports loses each month by providing their services to us.
